Privacy Policy

SmackFart is a prank sound app. We built it around a simple rule: nothing about you leaves your device. This page explains what that means in plain English.

Data we collect

None. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage data, device identifiers, location, contacts, or any other information from your device to any server owned or operated by us.

Analytics & tracking

None. SmackFart has no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no telemetry, no advertising identifier access, and no third-party tracking libraries.

Network requests the app makes

• Apple In-App Purchase — when you buy or restore "Unlock Everything," the app talks to Apple's StoreKit to verify your purchase. That request goes directly from your device to Apple. We do not see it.
• Paddle (macOS direct-download variant only) — when you buy through our smackfart.com direct download, Paddle handles payment. Paddle's own privacy policy applies to that transaction: paddle.com/legal/privacy.
• That's it. No other network calls.

Where your stuff lives

• Settings, sound preferences, Forge presets: in your app's private AsyncStorage on device.
• Evidence Vault clips: in your app's sandboxed Documents/SmackFartEvidence/ directory. The operating system prevents other apps from reading that folder. Clips are never uploaded, never shared automatically, and never leave your device unless you explicitly tap Share in the vault.
• Purchase entitlement: stored by Apple against your Apple ID. Restoring on a new device re-downloads it from Apple.

Permissions the app asks for

• Motion & Fitness — the accelerometer is how we detect the shake that triggers the prank. Required for the core feature. Never used to track movement or location.
• Camera — only asked for when you turn on Evidence Vault. The camera is strictly video-only, with audio capture disabled in code. Nothing captured is ever uploaded. Declining is fine; everything else still works.
• No microphone. Ever.
• No location. Ever.
• No contacts, calendars, health, or photos.

Children

SmackFart is rated 12+. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what the app collects — we won't — we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. We'd rather shut down than collect data we don't need.
